The Holidays Begin Celebrate YOU during this holiday season.
So take a break from planning, practicing and do some partying. You’ve earned it after a full year of nose to the grindstone, conferences, phone calls, newsletters, and emails.
I always take Christmas week and reflect, regroup, reorganize my office and get ready to dive into the New Year. It’s really a great time to celebrate — but not just the holidays. It’s a great time to celebrate all you’ve accomplished over the last year. We don’t do that enough. We don’t congratulate ourselves for what we’ve achieved, large or small.
As independent artists we are most likely not involved with an organization handing out awards at a grand ceremony. So we need to give ourselves a pat on the back — look ourselves in the mirror and simply say, “Great job!” The fact is that no matter where you started on January 1, you have grown in some way, your art has grown, your business has developed and you’ve achieved something.
So, let the holidays begin-celebrate you. While you are out having your holiday fun, don’t forget to take some time to celebrate all you’ve accomplished last year and raise a glass of cheer to YOU and I’ll do the same.
