First, here’s to those who have served this country as we honor them on this Memorial Day. I remember the stories my dad told to me about his time serving during WWII. And I think of the values our country stood for and the standing America had in world. I have been enjoying the break from the daily hustle of gigs and all things related, spending long hours in my music studio studying guitar improvisation (taking weekly zoom lessons) and learning sight singing from books. These are two areas have been on hold for many years and are bringing me great joy as my skills improve. Other activities are playing waltzes nightly with my husband (quality time), online yoga classes (necessary to counteract many hours of sitting), gardening and walking in our neighborhood. Slowing down has helped me notice what is most important to my personal health and happiness, and music and family both play a big part.
