Are you giving yourself time to just breathe?
Do you ever look at a website or newspaper or magazine page and get overwhelmed by all the copy and graphics? In the design world this is sometimes known as not leaving enough white space. You need some white space to pull the design together.
Sometimes I feel like we create our lives in a similar way, crowding every moment with something so that there is no room to just breathe. We don’t leave any white space.
It is in this kind of environment that we begin to feel overwhelmed.
In that white space, there are opportunities staring you in the face. But, when you crowd your life with stuff, you may not be able to notice them.
During those moments you will find time to think and plan. They are precious and in fact more important than all the time filled with doing stuff.
Is the stuff you are doing the most important thing you could be doing? Do you need to step back and take some time to just be?
In our effort to plan well, perhaps we plan too much. While planning, let there be time to just sit, think and breathe. Let what’s been put in place, work. Give it a minute to take hold before tweaking it, yet again.
This week take time to surround yourself with white space and breathe in the opportunities that are right in front of you. If you are having trouble seeing the opportunities through all the stuff crowding your life, just breathe!
Are you living a crowded life? Do you give yourself precious moments to just breathe? What spectacular opportunities have you noticed when you do?
